Last day in Europe

I have mixed feelings about heading home, I am really excited to be home but sad to leave this part of the world. I thought I would get all the traveling out of my system after over five months, I haven't.
I will be back on the road soon enough.

Madrid, Spain

The last stop internationally on a trip around the world, it feels good and strange.

I witnessed an attempted mugging on the train two stops after boarding my first spanish metro. Viva La Espana!

Next stop, Madrid

Espana very soon!

leaving morocco

parts will be missed, other parts (the constant pestering) will not be missed.

Marrakesh

Way chiller than Fes! Not a bad place but still has the seedy vibe and hustlers of all the moroccan cities I've encountered. Here's a tip, don't take photos of the snake charmers.

Dades Gorge

I traveled with the canadians from todra to dades for more hiking, once again we were hostel hunted but this time we were taken to an amazing hotel with dirt cheap prices, great tanjines, berber drumming and the antics of a berber deported from spain for selling cocaine. I'm going to miss the high atlas mountains and all of the berber people. did i mention fig moonshine? when i make it back to morocco, this is where i will be

Todra Gourge

On the bus from Merzouga I met two nice canadian dudes on their way to todra, we had the same intentions of hiking the mofo out of the gorge so I teamed up with them to confuse all the headhunters. We were discovered by Omar who led us to a nice hostel in the middle of the gorge, great hiking with amazing views, berber nomads inviting us in for tea and the antics of a clearly insane hostel hustler rasta omar.

I climbed the 'tallest' dune in morocco

4 hours up and down, there and back. barefoot.
